Free Downtown Trolley
While you're visiting Decatur, there's no better way to explore our quaint, historic downtown than by boarding the downtown trolley - the bright yellow & green "Pride of the Prairie!" Circling the downtown area every 15-20 minutes, the trolley will stop when you flag it down, and drop you off wherever it strikes your fancy. The trolley drivers are friendly and knowledgible. Park anywhere in the downtown and ride the trolley to art galleries, restaurants, shops and downtown historic sites.
A second trolley, the "Commodore Stephen Decatur," travels hourly from the downtown Severns Transportation Center, west on Main Street through the city's historic district to Millikin University. There is a nominal fee of 50 cents to ride the Millikin trolley, money well-spent to view the magnificent historic homes and picturesque streetscape along the route.
The trolleys are operational from 8 AM until 10 PM.
