Lakeside Music and Arts Festival "Red, White and Blues"

This event spotlights the best in art, music and culinary delights. Highlighted this year will be red and white wines, and blues music. Artisans from all over the state display pieces ranging from glass, photography, pottery/ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, painting and mixed media art, all showcased along the boardwalk of Lake Decatur. Also included is an eclectic mix of live music performed on the event's numerous stages. Children's activities and interactive displays and demonstrations provide something for the whole family to enjoy. Art booth hours Saturday 11am - 8pm & Sunday 11am - 4pm. On Saturday, fireworks at dusk, with music and food continuing until 10 pm. Decatur Park Singers perform at 5:00 pm on Saturday.

Youth Race - July 4, 9:00 a.m. Fairview Park, Decatur
Kids between the ages of 7 and 14 can begin training now to be part of the Rodney T. Miller Youth Triathlon on Saturday, July 4, 2009 in Fairview Park beginning at 9 a.m. The Juniors Course (7-10 years old) will include a 100 meter swim, 2 mile bike and .8 mile run. The Seniors Course (11 – 14 years old) will include a 200 meter swim, 4 mile bike and 1.2 mile run. Registration will be from 6:30 – 8:30 a.m. at the Fairview Aquatic Center.
