Denene Wilmeth, Executive Director - denene@decaturcvb.com Denene has been with the Decatur Area CVB for 26 years, 16 of them as Executive Director. She is responsible for directing and leading the staff and keeping the bureau on track toward its mission. Denene works with and serves on numerous boards, commissions and committees, tracking the pulse of the community, its attractions and venues. She works together with many other community agencies to attract an increasing number of visitors to the local area.
Teri Hammel, Director of Sports and Finance - teri@decaturcvb.com Teri is your source for assistance when planning any large sporting events, tournaments or miscellaneous events such as dog shows, fishing tournaments, coin & stamp shows and other events where overnight stays are involved. Teri will work with you on room bids, room blocks, locating the ideal venues and determining services that you will need for your event.
Jan Hooten, Director of Sales & Marketing - jan@decaturcvb.com Jan handles the bureau's public relations, advertising and graphic arts, in addition to marketing and sales for meetings & conventions for the corporate, association, government, religious and fraternal markets. Jan is also responsible for marketing and sales in the motor coach and group tour markets. Jan serves as Vice-Chair of the ICCVB Meet in Illinois Committee, a group that works to encourage planners to book conventions and meetings throughout the state of Illinois.
Cathy Anderson, Office and Services Manager - cathy@decaturcvb.com Cathy is the person responsible for all services the Convention & Visitors bureau provides to overnight groups. She coordinates volunteers and registration assistants and supervises the staffing at events, meetings and conventions. Cathy also receives and disburses all information for the CVB web site's community calendar.
Linda White, Marketing Assistant - linda@decaturcvb.com Linda handles mailings, disbursement of information from the CVB to area hoteliers and attractions, coordinates room blocks, collects occupancy data and is an all-round office assistant and support person.
